BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Saint Joseph's capped play at the Camel Stampede on Sunday as the Hawks fell to Incarnate Word, 5-0.
How It Happened
• After three scoreless innings, Incarnate Word scored four runs in the top of the fourth to open a 4-0 lead.
• Jillian Guiterrez made it 1-0 with a RBI double for the Cardinals.
• Jasmine Contreras and Baylee Lemons followed with RBI singles to make it 3-0.
• Victoria Altamirano drew a bases-loaded walk to up Incarnate Words' lead to 4-0.
• The Cardinals added an insurance run in the top of the seventh on a RBI single by Aaliyah Garcia.
• Saint Joseph's threatened in the bottom of the seventh, but Incarnate Word turned a double play to end the contest.
