Baseball Bounces Back with 8-2 Win at Lehigh

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's baseball team ended its four-game skid with an 8-2 win over Lehigh at Walker Field on Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Neither side lit up the scoreboard until the third when Lehigh (8-4-1) took a 1-0 lead on an RBI groundout by Justin Butler.

• Owen Petrich knotted things up in the sixth with a solo home run.

• Saint Joseph's (6-8) would take the lead in the seventh as a Max Hitman single brought home Jakob Reed for a 2-1 Hawk advantage.  Then, with the bases loaded, Ryan Weingartner hit a sacrifice fly to score Hitman and double the lead.

• The Hawks broke things open in the eighth.  Conlan Wall drew a bases-loaded walk to make it a 4-1 game before a throwing error on a Tim Dickinson ground ball scored two and pushed the lead to five.  Weingartner followed with an RBI single before a double steal brought home Dickinson to make it an 8-1 game.

• The Mountain Hawks got one back in the bottom of the frame on a solo home run by Butler, but that would be all.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Colin Yablonski allowed one hit in two innings of relief, striking out a pair, to earn the win and improve to 3-2.  Julio Ermigiotti took the loss, allowing two runs on one hit in a third of an inning, to fall to 1-1.

• David Owsik tossed three innings as the starter for SJU, allowing an unearned run and two hits.  Teddy Tolliver threw two shutout innings in a start for Lehigh.

• Hitman went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and one driven in.  Reed and Ryan Picollo had two hits apiece, while Reed scored twice and Weingartner drove in a pair.  Wall drew three walks on the day as well.
