ST. LOUIS – The Saint Joseph's softball team split its series-opening doubleheader at Saint Louis on Saturday as the Hawks rallied for a 5-4 win in the opener, while the Billikens took game two, 7-2.
How It Happened - Game One
• Saint Joseph's took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as
Meghan Sinkus scored on a sacrifice fly by
Kayla Tauber.
• The Billikens struck for three runs in the bottom of the third to take a 3-1 advantage.
• Kendall Johnson scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at 1-1.
• A RBI double by Cami Newbanks put the Billikens ahead, 2-1.
• Newbanks scored on a RBI single by Abby Mallo to make it 3-1.
• A solo home run by Chloe Rhine put Saint Louis ahead 4-1 in the sixth.
• Saint Joseph's rallied to retake the lead with a four-run seventh inning.

Haley McMenamin scored on a sacrifice fly by Sinkus to bring the Hawks to within 4-2.
• With two outs and two on,
Gianna Muhaw doubled to left field, scoring
Karlee Smith and
Nicole Bondoc to tie the game at 4-4.
• Tauber followed with a double to right field, allowing Muhaw to score the go-ahead run and make it 5-4.
• Saint Louis threatened in the bottom of the seventh, getting two runners on with just one out.

Taylor Trowbridge worked out of trouble as she got consecutive strikeouts to secure the victory.

• The Billikens extended their lead to 7-0 behind a five-run third inning.
• A three-run home run by Rhine made it 5-0.
• Saint Louis opened a seven-run advantage on a two-run single by Abby Ulsas.
• Saint Joseph's rallied in the top of the seventh as a bases-loaded walk by
Sarah Cancila scored Sinkus to make it 7-1.
• Muhaw scored on a RBI ground out by
Hailey Malito to bring the Hawks within 7-2.
• Saint Louis was able to get the final out before the Hawks could score again.

• Cancila went 2-for-3 with a walk and a RBI.
