ORLANDO, Fla. – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team opened its Spring Break trip in style with a 6-1 win over Stonehill on Monday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Stonehill won the doubles point, claiming victories in the top two flights.Â
Charlotte Kordonowy and
Brooke Tackett were 6-0 winners in the third for SJU.
• Saint Joseph's took command in singles play, winning all six flights.Â
Fabiana Tort-Umpierre was a 6-2, 6-1 winner in the first, while
Victoria Tracey dismissed her second-flight opponent, 6-3, 6-3, in the second, and
Sophia Amato rallied from a set down for a 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 win in a tiebreaker in the third.
• Kordonowy came from behind as well, topping her fourth-flight opponent, 5-7, 6-4, 10-6 in a tiebreaker. Both Tackett and
Ireland Amato won at love in their fifth- and sixth-flight matches, respectively. Tackett won all three sets she played on Monday without dropping a game.

"We got off to a slow start in doubles, but we rebounded in not dropping a singles match," head coach
Jeff Puhan said. "It was a good start to a long week; onto Sacred Heart tomorrow morning."
