Women’s Tennis Drops 5-2 Result to Sacred Heart

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team fell to Sacred Heart, 5-2, on Tuesday morning in the second of four matches in Florida this week.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Sacred Heart took the first point of the day via doubles play.  Ireland Amato and Sophia Amato earned a win in the second flight, but the Pioneers won the first and third to claim the point.
 
• The Pioneers sealed the match with four singles wins.  Victoria Tracey earned a point for the Hawks in the second flight, winning 6-3, 6-4, while Ireland Amato was a 7-5, 6-1 winner in the sixth.
 
HAWK TALK
"We came out with better doubles energy today, but came up short," head coach Jeff Puhan said.  "The team responded in singles play and we put ourselves in position to win the match.
 
"We are getting better; now we need to get better in the pressure moments.  We will regroup and fight again tomorrow!"
 
UP NEXT
The Hawks continue their Spring Break sojourn with a match against Seton Hall on Wednesday.
