BALTIMORE – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team battled at Morgan State on Tuesday, ultimately falling by a 5-2 score.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Fabiana Tort-Umpierre and
Victoria Tracey kicked the day off with a 6-1 win in the top doubles flight, but the Bears earned 7-5 wins in each of the last two flights to win the doubles point.
• Morgan State doubled its lead with a win in the third flight, but Tort-Umpierre rolled to a 6-3, 6-4 win in the second and Tracey claimed a 6-3, 7-5 win in the first to bring the Hawks back to level pegging.
• Unfortunately for the Crimson and Gray, the Bears took wins in the final three flights – two of them in three sets – to secure the match victory.

"We had some chances to win the doubles point today," head coach
Jeff Puhan said. "We came out strong in singles play; Victoria and Fabiana had really good wins. In the end, Morgan State won the important games today."
UP NEXT
The Hawks will host Drexel on Wednesday morning; match time has been moved up to 10:00 a.m. due to impending weather.
