QUEENS, N.Y. – A St. John's goal in the final seconds proved the difference as the Saint Joseph's women's soccer team had its four-game unbeaten streak snapped by the Red Storm, 1-0, Sunday afternoon.
How It Happened
• St. John's controlled possession for a majority of the first half as they out shot the Hawks, 9-2.
• St. Joe's goalkeeper
Katie Cappelletti kept the game tied at 0-0 though as she made three of her game-high five saves in the first half.
• The Hawks continued to keep the Red Storm off the board in the second half, until the final seconds.
• With :03 to play, St. John's was awarded a free kick at the left side of the Saint Joseph's box.
• On the volley in, the Red Storm's Jordyn Levy's shot found the back of the net, but it appeared that the clock had expired before the ball crossed the line.
• Upon VAR review by the referee, the decisive goal was ruled to have crossed the line with two seconds to go.
