Lauren Greer Joins Women’s Basketball Roster Ahead of 2024-25 Season

9/13/2024 1:15:00 PM

PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph's women's head basketball coach Cindy Griffin announced the addition of Lauren Greer to the 2024-25 roster on Friday afternoon.

"We are thrilled to add Lauren to our program," said Griffin. "She is a proven winner that will no doubt bring energy, effort and enthusiasm to our program each and every day."

Greer joins as a walk-on for the upcoming season after a storied high school career at Archbishop Wood. During her time as a Viking, Greer finished all four of her seasons as a PIAA State Champion. Greer also earned District 12 Champion accolades all four years, while claiming a pair of PCL Championships in both basketball and soccer. The incoming freshman also earned PCL and State Championship honors in flag football, grabbing the winning touchdown pass to defeat Conwell-Egan 20-19 in the first PCL Championship before cruising in the Pennsylvania State Championship.

Individually, Greer earned All-Catholic League Third Team honors in her senior year of basketball after leading the team in a variety of statistical categories. A two-time PCL selection in soccer, Greer earned second (2022) and third team (2023) All-Catholic distinction in her junior and senior season. Additionally, Greer was a First Team All-PCL selection in flag football in 2024.

Greer joins Rhian Stokes and Meja Jägerskog as newcomers to a Hawk squad that finished the 2023-24 season with a 28-6 record and a quarterfinal appearance in the WBIT. The 28 wins set a program record for most victories in a single season.

St. Joe's opens the season on November 6, hosting Goldey-Beacom inside Hagan Arena.
