AT THE TIP
  • The Hawks look to return to winning ways, traveling to VCU on Sunday afternoon after their seven-game win streak was ended against Duquesne.
  • The Hawks lost just their third game of the season, two of the three losses coming by one possession.

LAST TIME OUT
  • The Saint Joseph's women's basketball team nearly overcame a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter, eventually falling in a 67-64 defeat to Duquesne on Wednesday evening inside Hagan Arena.
  • Duquesne built a 19-5 advantage to start the game. St. Joe's chipped away at the deficit, the bench providing 15 points to help draw within three at the halftime break. The Dukes tallied another double-digit lead in the third quarter, leading comfortably until an 8-0 Hawk run late in the fourth quarter brought the game within one. Duquesne countered with eight of the next 11 points to help hold off St. Joe's, 67-64.
  • Aleah Snead led the Hawks with 10 points, adding three rebounds and three assists. Mackenzie Smith and Laura Ziegler each added nine points, Ziegler registering 13 rebounds and five assists. Nine different players scored for the Hawks.

HAWKS IN THE NCAA RANKS
  • Laura Ziegler is one double-double shy of moving into second all-time in program history, entering the contest at VCU with 32 in her career. The junior ranks fourth in the country with 11.7 rebounds per game, leading the NCAA with 9.7 defensive rebounds per game.
  • Emma Boslet ranks second in the Atlantic 10 and 19th in the NCAA in assist/turnover ratio (2.73).
  • The Hawks are 11th as a team in assist/turnover ratio (1.39) while the 18.9 assists per game also ranks 11th in the country.
  • St. Joe's ranks 11th in the country in free throw percentage (78.7%) and 15th in three-point percentage (37.7%).
  • Mackenzie Smith enters the matchup with a 45.6% clip from three-pointers, ranking 14th in the country and leading the A-10.

MILESTONE MARKS
  • Laura Ziegler recorded her 1,000th career point against VCU, becoming the 31st player in program history to reach 1,000 points. Ziegler became the fourth-fastest player (74) to the milestone, only Dale Hodges (53), Susan Moran (64) and Talya Brugler (72) reaching 1,000 points quicker than the Herlev, Denmark native.
  • Ziegler also moved to ninth all-time in program history in career rebounds (738) and blocks (82).
  • Mackenzie Smith became the 12th player in program history with 100 starts in her career against VCU. Talya Brugler was the 13th player to record a century starts against La Salle.
  • Talya Brugler is 43 points shy of entering top five in program history in scoring, while Mackenzie Smith entered the top 10 with nine points against Duquesne.

SERIES REWIND
  • The Hawks enter the matchup with VCU with an 11-13 record in the series.
  • After a three-game losing streak to start the rivalry, the Hawks rattled off eight of the next 10 matchups. However, the Rams have won seven of the last nine in the series.
  • St. Joe's has played VCU inside the Siegel Center in four of the last six matchups, winning the only pair of home games including a 70-62 win two weeks ago.
  • The Hawks are 3-9 all-time away from home, including a 3-8 record at VCU.
