AT THE TIP
  • The Hawks host Fordham on Wednesday evening inside Hagan Arena, looking to shrug off a two-game losing streak in conference play.
  • Talya Brugler snapped a two-game streak of single-digit scoring with 10 points against VCU, only the second time in the last three seasons that Brugler was held under 10 points in back-to-back games.

LAST TIME OUT
  • The Saint Joseph's women's basketball team fell in a 57-50 defensive battle on the road to VCU on Sunday afternoon inside of the Siegel Center.
  • Both teams shot under 30% from the field in the opening half, St. Joe's leading by as many as five points before taking a 22-20 lead into the halftime break. A 9-2 run from the Rams ended the third gave the Rams a one-point lead. St. Joe's trailed by three with under four minutes remaining before a VCU triple pushed the lead to two possessions, the Hawks unable to claw back in for the second defeat in a row.
  • Saint Joseph's was led by 19 points from Laura Ziegler. Mackenzie Smith scored 12 points, while Talya Brugler scored in double-digits with 10 points on the afternoon and recorded her third double-double of the year with 11 rebounds.

HAWKS IN THE NCAA RANKS
  • Laura Ziegler sits in a tie for second all-time with 32 career double-doubles, two shy of last year's output of 13 on the season. Ziegler ranks fourth in the country with 11.5 rebounds per game, leading the NCAA with 9.6 defensive rebounds per game.
  • Emma Boslet ranks second in the Atlantic 10 and 25th in the country in assist/turnover ratio (2.54).
  • The Hawks are 14th as a team in assist/turnover ratio (1.34) while the 18.4 assists per game sits 15th-best in the country.
  • StSt. Joe's re-entered the top 10 in Division I in free throw shooting (78.9%), while the 37.2% from distance ranks 16th in the land.
  • Mackenzie Smith enters the matchup with a 44.6% clip from three-pointers, ranking 17th in the country and leading the A-10.
  • Ziegler, Brugler and Smith all rank in the top 10 in scoring in the conference.

MILESTONE MARKS
  • Laura Ziegler recorded her 1,000th career point against VCU, becoming the 31st player in program history to reach 1,000 points. Ziegler became the fourth-fastest player (74) to the milestone, only Dale Hodges (53), Susan Moran (64) and Talya Brugler (72) reaching 1,000 points quicker than the Herlev, Denmark native.
  • Ziegler also moved to ninth all-time in program history in career rebounds (746) and blocks (85).
  • Mackenzie Smith became the 12th player in program history with 100 starts in her career against VCU. Talya Brugler was the 13th player to record a century starts against La Salle.
  • Emma Boslet made her 100th career appearance for St. Joe's against Duquesne, while Paula Maurina is four games shy of reaching 100 career games.
  • Talya Brugler is 33 points shy of entering top five in program history in scoring, while Mackenzie Smith ranks 10th in school history with 1,381 career points.

SERIES REWIND
  • St. Joe's enters Wednesday's contest with a 39-16 overall record against Fordham.
  • Last season, Saint Joseph's and Fordham split the series with the road team winning each matchup.
  • The Hawks won 15 of the first 16 matchups between the two, but have recently struggled against the Rams with seven losses in the last eight games.
  • The 76 points scored at Fordham last season was the most points scored by one team since March 5, 2010 when the Hawks tallied 76 points in an Atlantic 10 Tournament win.
