Cristian Oliveira registered his first career goal in the 62
nd minute to help secure a 2-1 win over Rhode Island on Saturday afternoon on Sweeney Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Tommaso Rossetto broke through the Rhode Island backline in the fifth minute and drove a low shot on target, but the Rams' goalkeeper made the save to deny the winger.
- Just two minutes later, Rossetto found the breakthrough. A quick exchange between Jake Ross and Aldo Hernandez set up the freshman to pick out the run of Rossetto, who picked his head up and calmly slotted a shot past the onrushing keeper to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead in the seventh minute.
- Rhode Island responded quickly, forcing goalkeeper Cooper Jennings into a pair of saves. A rebound from the second of those stops fell directly to a Rams attacker, who guided the ball into the net to level the score at 1-1 in the 15th minute.
- Less than a minute later, the Rams nearly took the lead, but Jennings made a full-stretch save to his left to keep the match level.
- Rhode Island maintained pressure for the remainder of the first half, but Jennings stood tall as the redshirt junior finished the half with a season-best five saves to keep the score tied at 1-1.
- Jennings recorded his sixth save on the hour mark, and shortly after, the Hawks regained possession in midfield. Rossetto lofted a ball over the top to freshman Cristian Oliveira, who nodded it past a defender and volleyed into the top-right corner for his first career goal, giving the Hawks a 2-1 lead.
- Rhode Island's comeback hopes took a hit in the 87th minute when defender Joan Sanchis was shown a red card, reducing the Rams to 10 men for the remainder of the match.
- The Hawks did not concede a shot on goal over the final 30 minutes, closing out a 2-1 win on Sweeney Field.
