Men’s Soccer Falls to Bucknell, 2-0

PHILADELPHIA The Saint Joseph's men's soccer team had its seven-game home unbeaten streak ended on Tuesday evening, falling to Bucknell in a 2-0 defeat on Sweeney Field.
 
St. Joe's falls to 6-6-3 on the season while Bucknell improved to 8-4-3.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The visitors controlled possession through the opening 15 minutes, eventually breaking behind the Hawk defense before Cooper Jennings came up with a strong save to keep the match scoreless.
  • Tommaso Rossetto generated a pair of chances just past the half-hour mark, denied twice by the Bucknell goalkeeper.
  • Bucknell broke through with 1.8 seconds left in the half, converting off a quick corner as a towering header found the corner of the net.
  • Despite controlling play to start the second half, the Hawks were caught on the counter as a composed finish from Bucknell's Drew Roskos doubled the visitors' lead in the 70th minute.
  • Saint Joseph's held a 7–4 shot advantage in the second half but was only able to test the goalkeeper once more through Rossetto as Bucknell held on for a 2–0 win.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Saint Joseph's held a 9–8 edge in shots, with both teams placing four on target. Rossetto led the Hawks with all four shots on frame, finishing with five attempts on the night.
  • Aldo Hernandez went the full 90 minutes in midfield, marking the first complete match of his career.
