PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's women's soccer pushed the pace in the second half, but were upended by the 2-1 by the Duquesne Dukes on Sunday afternoon.
 
BY THE NUMBERS

• Jayda Shehadi scored her third goal of the season.
• Chelsea Leal delivered an assist. It is the third consecutive game she has recorded a point.
• Alli Popham made eight saves.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• After Duquesne got the initial goal of the game on a PK, St. Joe's tied it as Leal sent a perfect ball through two defenders to Shehadi in the top left corner, who then drove the ball into the top right corner, knotting the game at 1-1.
• The Dukes took a 2-1 lead four minutes later on a turnover by SJU.
• Early in the second half, the Hawks had a golden opportunity with a 2-on-1, but a pair of spectacular saves by the Duquesne keeper kept the ball out of the back of the net.
• SJU continued to press the offensive pressure, outshooting the Dukes in both total attempts and shots on goal in the second half, but were unable to crack the scoreboard.
