Women's Soccer Earns Big A-10 Win

PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team turned in its best conference performance of the season, earning a 3-0 win against the Davidson Wildcats on Thursday.

BY THE NUMBERS
  • Juliette Muro tallied her first goal of the season for the Hawks.
  • Jailyn Parrotte netted her first career goal with an impressive bender early in the second half.
  • Emily Hanrahan added her fifth goal of the season.
  • Sarah Fisher had an assist, her sixth of the year, taking the A-10 lead in that category. Both Muro and Parrotte had a helper.
  • Peyton Radwanski made five saves for her first career clean sheet.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After some early chances for both sides including one where Chloe Khelil stepped in front of the net and steered the ball away after the keeper went off her line, the game remained scoreless into the final 15 minutes of the half.
  • SJU broke the ice at the end of the 36th minute as Muro poked home a rebound off an initial shot from Fisher, giving St. Joe's a 1-0 lead.
  • Early in the second half, Parrotte took control of the ball eight yards from the goal line outside of the box on the left. She moved the ball on to the top left corner and drove a screamer that curled into the top right corner of the net.
  • In the 68th minute, Saint Joseph's stuck with the play as a through ball found the foot of Parrotte. Her initial shot led to an impressive save. Muro had an attempt that was saved, but the third attempt from Hanrahan was successful, putting SJU up 3-0.
