PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph's junior
Aleah Snead earned her second Big 5 Player of the Week honor on Monday, the organization announced.
Snead was an integral piece of a Hawks team that went 2-0 on the week with Big 5 pod wins over Penn and Drexel, helping Saint Joseph's advance to the Big 5 championship game on Sunday, Dec. 7.
The Philadelphia native nearly recorded a triple-double against Penn, finishing with game highs in points (18), rebounds (11), assists (8), steals (5) and blocks (2). Snead bested or tied career highs in every category except points, earning the first double-double of her career in the win.
She followed up the performance with a second straight double-double, helping the Hawks past Drexel with 11 points and a career-high 12 rebounds.
For the week, Snead averaged 14.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.0 steals. The junior guard leads the Hawks with 26 assists and is one of three Hawks averaging double figures at 12.9 points per game.
