WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Saint Joseph's women's basketball team earned its sixth-consecutive victory on Saturday afternoon, collecting a 57-42 win over George Washington inside the Charles E. Smith Center.
Laura Ziegler led the way with a game-high 20 points on the afternoon, one rebound shy of her 17
th double-double of the season.
Aleah Snead added 16 points with five rebounds and four assists.
Makayla Andrews paced George Washington with a team-high 16 points, Gabby Reynolds adding nine points in the defeat.
Despite shooting just 3-12 in the opening 10 minutes, Saint Joseph's (17-4, 8-2 Atlantic 10) used a 10-2 run fueled by a pair of threes from
Aleah Snead to tally its first lead of the game in the opening minutes of the second quarter. The Hawks outscored George Washington (8-12, 1-8 Atlantic 10) 22-9 over the frame to take a 29-22 lead into the halftime break.
The teams traded the first three baskets of the second half, cutting the lead to six before the Hawks made eight of their final 10 attempts of the quarter to enter the fourth on a 17-4 run with a 48-31 lead. The Hawk advantage never dipped below 15 as St. Joe's earned its sixth-consecutive win.

- Ziegler's 20 points pushed her into the top 20 in school history, the junior recording 1,186 points in her career. Ziegler added four assists and three blocks, now tied for eighth in program history in career blocks (92).
- Snead added 16 points on 12 attempts, knocking down both three-pointers to register her first career game with multiple triples. The sophomore added five rebounds and four assists.
- Emma Boslet added six rebounds, four on the offensive glass, in the win.
- Paula Maurina and Kaylie Griffin combined for 3-3 off the bench for eight of the Hawks' 10 bench points.
- St. Joe's limited GW to just 42 points on 17-49 (34.7%) from the field, connecting on just 2-12 (16.7%) attempts from three.
- The Hawks have allowed under 50 points for the second-consecutive game and the fourth time this season.
- The 57 points was the fewest scored by the Hawks in a win this season, the previous low coming in a 59-54 win over College of Charleston.
- St. Joe's holds a six-game win streak, one game shy of matching its season-best tally. The Hawks also hold a five-game win streak over George Washington, increasing the series to 37-32 all-time
