COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team suffered defeat to perennial powerhouse #9 Maryland in an 18-7 loss on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Jorden Concordia produced three saves in the opening frame as the Hawk defense kept the game with two goals headed into the second quarter.
  • The Terps showed their prowess in front of the goal, rattling off the first six goals of the second quarter to extend the run to 8-0 before the Hawks grabbed one back late in the half through Sarah Groark.
  • Kate Fuhrman opened the second half with an early goal to cut the deficit before another 4-0 run from Maryland put the hosts up by double-digits.
  • Megan Sanelli and Riley Miller combined with a Maddie Yoder hat trick over the final quarter and a half of the contest, but the goals only provided consolation as the Hawks fell to the top 10 foe, 18-7.
