HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST KENT STATE
- After Kent State scored a run in the top of the first, the Hawks took the lead in the bottom of the frame. Tauber singled, followed by walks to Hailey Malito and Sarah Cancila, loading the bases. Meghan Sinkus came up and continued her torrid hitting with a two-run single.
- Opening the second inning, Jenna Currie singled in front of Fretz who clubbed her third homer of the season, pushing the SJU lead to 4-1
- The Golden Flashes got one of the runs back in the third, but Saint Joseph's got it back in the fourth as Currie doubled and moved to third on an error before scoring on a wild pitch.
- KSU would come back and tie the game in the top of the fifth.
- In the bottom of the inning, Cancila singled and Malito walked. Sinkus sacrificed them to second and third for Riley York who delivered a hit to left, plating Cancila for a 6-5 SJU lead.
- Kent State scored three times in the sixth to go back on top. In the bottom of the inning, St. Joe's got one of the runs back as a Cancila double plated Tauber to make it 8-7.
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST HARVARD
- After a quick first inning by Jenna Wagner, the Hawks got the bats going right away as a single by Tauber and walks to Cancila and Sinkus loaded the bases for åYork who smacked a grand slam for a 4-0 SJU lead.
- Capping the inning, Fretz reached on an error and scored on a wild pitch.
- The contest remained that way until the fourth when pinch-runner Jayda Shehadi scored on a Tauber single.
- Saint Joseph's ended the game in the fifth. Sinkus scored on an error. With Curie on first, Fretz delivered a two-run homer that pushed the Hawks past the eight-run margin to close the contest.
- Wagner picked up her third win of the season and her first career shutout.
