Baseball Drops Midweek Game to Lehigh

MERION STATION, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's baseball team fell to Lehigh, 12-2, at Smithson Field on Tuesday in the Hawks' final tune-up before conference play gets underway.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Lehigh (6-5) opened the scoring with a four-spot in the top of the third and followed it up with another in the fourth to double the lead.

• Saint Joseph's (5-10) got on the board in the fourth on a solo home run by Sam Meyer.  The Hawks tacked on one more in the fifth as Kieran Kehoe led off with a double, advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Colin Myers, and came in to score on a wild pitch.

• The Mountain Hawks got one back in the sixth before scoring three more in the ninth to pad the advantage and set the final score.

• Grady Golier got the win for Lehigh, while Matt Fitzgibbon took the loss for the Hawks.  Cole Kochanowicz tossed three shutout innings to cap off the game for the save.
