WASHINGTON, D.C. – Five members of the Saint Joseph's men's basketball team were recognized with All-Conference accolades as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
Xzayvier Brown and
Rasheer Fleming were named to the First Team.
Erik Reynolds II is on the Second Team.
Justice Ajogbor is All-Defensive and
Dasear Haskins is on the All-Rookie Team.
Brown leads the Hawks and is sixth in the A-10 in scoring at 17.0 points per game. He is one of two players in the conference to average 15.0 PPG, 5.0 RPG and 4.0 APG. The sophomore guard has four double-doubles on the season to rank tied for seventh in the A-10. He has also scored in double figures in every game he has played in this season and is second in the conference in games with 10+ points at 28.
Fleming is enjoying a breakout season, averaging 15.5 points and 8.6 rebounds a contest with 1.6 blocks per game. His rebounding totals are second in the Atlantic 10 and his scoring is 10th. He has nine double-doubles to rank second in the conference. He has also been one of the most accurate shooters in the league, ranking sixth in overall field goal percentage (56.0) and fifth in three-point percentage (41.8). He had a conference single game high 20 rebounds against Texas on November 22.
Reynolds averaged 16.8 points per game this season, ranking eighth in the A-10, improving that total to 19.1 in his last 12 contests. He sits fifth in the conference in three-pointers made with 85 and is fifth in free throw percentage (87.0). The two-time conference Player of the Week cemented his name in the St. Joe's record book as the Hawks' all-time leading scorer and career three-point leader, heading into the conference tournament with 2,136 points and 346 treys.
Ajogbor is one of the top rim protectors in the nation, ranking 12th nationally with 70 blocks. He had the top streak in the country with 11 consecutive games collecting multiple blocks from December 21 through February 1 and is fourth in NCAA Division I with three games of five blocks or more. He has 13 games with three or more rejections and averaged 2.89 BPG in conference play.
Haskins was named the A-10 Rookie of the Week twice, on December 2 and December 30. He has six games this year in double figure scoring, including a career-high 15 against Coppin State along with 11 points and nine rebounds against UMass in the conference opener.
The Hawks begin postseason play in the Second Round of the Atlantic 10 Championship on Thursday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. against either No. 11 UMass or No. 14 La Salle.
