AT THE TIP
  • For the first time since 2018, the Hawks compete for an Atlantic 10 Championship when meeting George Mason on Sunday, March 9.
  • Tip is scheduled for 4 p.m. inside the Henrico Sports and Events Center and will be broadcasted on ESPN2.
  • St. Joe's made its third championship game since 2013, looking to become the first squad since the 2012-13 team - also the no. 4 seed - to lift the trophy.
  • The Hawks defeated #5 Rhode Island, 53-50, in double overtime before knocking off the top-seeded Richmond in a 50-49 buzzer-beating win.

POSTSEASON ACCOLADES
  • Aleah Snead earned her first superlative award this week when the conference announced the sophomore as Atlantic 10 Sixth Woman of the Year.
  • Laura Ziegler and Mackenzie Smith were named to First Team All-Atlantic 10 selections, while Talya Brugler earned a spot to the Third Team. Ziegler was also named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team.
  • Ziegler was named a finalist to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award, one of five players in the country named to the final list.

HAWK NOTES
  • Laura Ziegler has scored 10+ points in 28 of 31 games this season. The junior is second all-time in program history with 39 double-doubles in her career.
  • Mackenzie Smith has registered 16 games this season with 15+ points, leading the conference in three point shooting at 43.4 percent (min. 2 made per game) headed into the A-10 Tournament.
  • Ziegler (17.5) and Smith (14.4) rank in the top 10 in scoring in the conference. Ziegler also ranks first in rebounding (10.6) and is fourth in assists per game (4.1).
  • The Hawks entered the tournament 18th in the NCAA as a team in assist/turnover ratio (1.30) and 21st with 17.6 assists per game.
  • St. Joe's enters allowing opponents to just 56.3 points per game, second-feweset in the conference and ranking 29th in the country.

MILESTONE MARKS
  • Talya Brugler sits third all-time in program history in scoring, three points shy of 1,700 with 1,697 career points
  • Laura Ziegler ranks fifth all-time in program history with 889 career rebounds and is sixth with 98 career blocks. Ziegler's 1,350 points ranks 12th in school history.
  • Mackenzie Smith became the third Hawk on the roster to record 500 career rebounds at Rhode Island, joining Talya Brugler and Ziegler. Smith's 119 career starts put her in fourth all-time in program history as the senior entered into the top five for most appearances (126) for St. Joe's against Richmond earlier this season.
  • Smith ranks seventh in school history with 1,547 career points.
  • Julia Nyström is two games shy of playing in 100 games in her career.
