FAIRFAX, Va. – The Saint Joseph's baseball team fell to George Mason, 9-1, in the series finale between the teams at Spuhler Field on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• George Mason (32-16 overall, 17-7 Atlantic 10) took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third on a double by Evan Blanchard and a single by Owen Hull. Hull then moved to third on an error and stole home for a 3-0 Patriots lead.

• Saint Joseph's (21-23 overall, 14-10 Atlantic 10) got on the board in the top of the seventh as
Blake Primrose led off with a single;
Tim Dickinson and
Aidan Duda followed with walks before a ground ball by
Dean Bergmann allowed the run to score.

• The Patriots then put six on the board in the bottom of the frame, using five hits and an error to set the final margin.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Brandon Cassedy tossed six shutout innings for the Patriots to get the win, while
Colton Book pitched into the seventh and allowed three earned runs on seven hits while fanning six and walking none in defeat.

Alex Kelsey each had two hits for the Hawks, while Dickinson reached base three times on a hit and two walks.

UP NEXT
The Hawks will return to the Washington, D.C., area on Friday for the first of a three-game set at George Washington.
