Women's Soccer Celebrates Senior Day Against Rhode Island

PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team honored its 2025 senior class in a pregame ceremony. In a tight battle, the Hawks were upended in their Atlantic 10 opener, 1-0 by the Rhode Island Rams.

BY THE NUMBERS
  • Coming on as a sub in early in the 17th minute, Peyton Radwanski made a career-high 10 saves.
  • The 10 stops tied for the most in a match by an A-10 keeper this year.
  • Natalee Vicari led SJU with three shots, two on target.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The teams played to a scoreless first half, despite chances both ways as the shots were even at 6-6. Coming up with the biggest stop of the opening 45 minutes was Radwanski who made a sprawling save in the 28th minute.
  • Rhode Island got the first tally of the game on the board at the end of the 48th minute.
  • St. Joe's had a strong surge towards the middle of the second half, but were unable to crack the scoreboard and the Rams methodically worked down the clock through the end of the match.

UP NEXT
The Hawks head on the road for a pair of conference matches, beginning with Fordham on Thursday, September 25. Opening tap from Moglia Stadium in The Bronx is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
