CHICAGO – The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team held the better of play early in the match, but a pair of goals midway through the first half saw the Hawks fall to the Loyola Chicago Ramblers on Sunday afternoon.
St. Joe's came out with fire, getting the first couple of scoring chances, including a shot from
Jayda Shehadi that required a leaping save from the Loyola keeper. As the half went on, the game evened out and the Ramblers scored twice in the opening stanza, in the 18th and 26th minutes. The second half saw the Hawks to continue to press, looking for the equalizer through the final whistle.
In 2026,
Sarah Fisher scored eight goals while
Chelsea Leal and
Valentina Nardone had four each. It is the first time since 2018 that the Hawks saw three or more players score at least four goals in the same season.
Lauren Lebo made 73 saves on the year, the most for a true freshman goalkeeper in SJU history.
Saint Joseph's closes the season 7-7-4, earning two more wins than last year.
