WASHINGTON – Saint Joseph's juniors Othman Bezzaz and Ernesto Ruy were named to the Atlantic 10's Men's Tennis Preseason All-Conference Team, the league office announced on Thursday afternoon.
 
Bezzaz and Ruy were ranked 70th in the ITA's national Division I doubles rankings in November, marking the first time a Hawk player or duo appeared in the rankings.
 
Both Bezzaz, a native of Casablanca, Morocco, and Ruy, who hails from Atizapan de Zaragoza, Mexico, earned All-Conference Second Team honors last season, while Bezzaz also earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District accolades as well.
 
As a team, the Hawks were ranked fourth in the league's preseason poll, Saint Joseph's highest rating since the Atlantic 10 began conducting a preseason poll of its head coaches.
