WASHINGTON/GILBERT, Ariz. – Saint Joseph's junior Ernesto Ruy and freshman Sehaj Singh Pawar were named the Under Armour Atlantic 10 Men's Tennis Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the conference office announced on Tuesday evening.

In addition, the Hawks moved up four places to #69 in the ITA National Rankings released earlier Tuesday after earning wins over then-#70 Lehigh and Bucknell over the weekend.

Ruy went 4-0 this weekend as the Hawks knocked off Lehigh, 4-3, on Friday and and Bucknell, 4-2, on Saturday.  On Friday, he teamed with Othman Bezzaz to roll to a 6-2 win in the second doubles flight to tie the doubles portion of the match en route to the Hawks winning the doubles point.  That point would prove critical as Ruy's 6-2, 6-3 singles win would put the Hawks on the edge of victory, which Bezzaz would go on to clinch.  On Saturday, the pair collected another doubles win before Ruy, a native of Atizapan de Zaragoza, Mexico, cruised to another 6-2, 6-3 win on the way to a Hawk match victory.

Hailing from Bangalore, India, Pawar collected a pair of clinching doubles wins this weekend and clinched the overall match for the Hawks on Saturday.  On Friday, he and Jakob Gaudreau Barnes won their third-flight match against Lehigh to give the Hawks the first point of the match.  The next day, the pair clinched another doubles point before Pawar rolled to a 6-2, 6-2 win in the sixth flight to clinch the match against Bucknell.

The Hawks will head to Boca Raton, Florida, early next week for Spring Break.
