FAIRFAX, Va. – In a game fitting for two of the best defensive teams during the past month in the Atlantic 10, the George Mason Patriots outlasted the Saint Joseph's men's basketball team, 60-52, on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After falling behind 5-0 early, Glover-Toscano took the reins for the Hawks. The sophomore went 4-for-5 from distance in a seven-minute span as the Hawks went up 18-13 near the midway mark of the period.
- The Patriots came back right away with eight consecutive points before Anthony Finkley stopped the run with a trey, tying the game at 21-21 with 8:13 remaining in the first.
- Defense was the story of the remainder of the stanza. With Saint Joseph's trailing by two, Derek Simpson came away with a steal and dunk to send the game tied at 29-29 into the locker room.
- George Mason scored the first bucket of the second half, but St. Joe's came back with a 9-2 run, taking a 38-33 lead on a Simpson finger roll.
- With the Hawks on top 43-37, the Patriots went on a 13-3 run as SJU endured a four-minute drought without a point. The scoreless streak was snapped on a three-pointer by Austin Williford with 6:23 remaining.
- Saint Joseph's got it to a one possession game on a trey by Simpson with under a minute remaining, but the Patriots were able to hold on at the end from the line.
