PHILADELPHIA – Sixteen different players found the back of the net and
Ben Dutton scored four goals as the No. 18 Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse team cruised past St. Bonaventure in the Atlantic 10 opener, 24–6, on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Sweeney Field.
Saint Joseph's (4-2, 1-0 A-10) scored the first 15 goals of the game and built a 17-2 halftime lead to take control early against St. Bonaventure (4-5, 0-1 A-10).
Jack McGorry opened the scoring less than 30 seconds into the game, igniting a first-quarter surge that saw the Hawks tally 10 goals on 17 shots.
Ben Dutton followed with three consecutive goals to record his hat trick just six minutes into the contest.
Aidan Kreydt added his first goal of the season between Dutton's fourth tally, while Saint Joseph's capped the quarter with four goals over the final 7:23 to take a 10-0 lead after the opening frame.
The Hawks continued their offensive onslaught in the second quarter, adding seven more goals.
Ryan Bradley opened the period with a man-down goal before
Stevie Pileggi notched his first of the season moments later. Saint Joseph's struck again just 13 seconds after the restart as Dutton assisted
Collin Campbell for his second goal of the afternoon.
Jacob Keller scored his first collegiate goal in his debut, while Pileggi capped the 15-0 run over the opening 21:08 of the contest.
James Zingo also registered his first goal before
Will Barber closed the scoring for the Hawks in the half, sending Saint Joseph's into the break with a 17-2 advantage.
The Hawks maintained the momentum to open the second half as
Braedon Chayes scored in the opening minute of the third quarter.
Colby Wood added two goals before Pileggi completed his hat trick with 1:28 remaining in the period, pushing the Saint Joseph's lead to 21-5 entering the final frame.
Saint Joseph's outscored the Bonnies 3-1 in the fourth quarter.
Joey Papa recorded his first career goal after picking up his first collegiate point earlier in the game, while Wood completed his hat trick with 25 seconds remaining.
Pierce Hart capped the scoring with 11 seconds left, becoming the final Hawk to record his first collegiate goal as Saint Joseph's secured the 24-6 victory.

- Collin Campbell totaled five points on two goals and three assists, and Braedon Chayes recorded three points with a goal and two assists.

- Saint Joseph's finished 3-for-4 on extra-man opportunities, while holding the Bonnies scoreless in three man-up chances.
- The Hawks limited the Bonnies to 12-of-20 on clears, while Saint Joseph's went 20-of-21.
- Saint Joseph's improved to 7-0 all-time against St. Bonaventure. The Hawks have recorded 50 or more shots in six of the seven meetings with the Bonnies.
- The 24 goals tie for the second-most in a single game in program history, while the 18-goal margin of victory ties for the fourth-largest in program history.
