ST. LOUIS – The Saint Joseph's softball team battled to the final out, but was upended in both ends of a doubleheader with the Saint Louis Billikens by scores of 2-1 and 5-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED IN GAME ONE
The opening game of the afternoon was a pitchers' duel as the teams were scoreless into the sixth.
In the top of that inning, Gianna Muyhaw singled and stole second. Three batters later,
Julia Shearer singled her home for a 1-0 SJU lead.
Unfortunately, the lead would not hold as the Billikens plated two in the bottom of the frame.
Trowbridge went the distance in the contest, scattering three hits and striking out five.

HOW IT HAPPENED IN GAME TWO
Saint Louis got on the board with the initial run of the game in the second inning and added another in the third.
The Billikens put the game away with a three-run fifth.Â
