VILLANOVA, Pa. – Despite a good start to the game, the Saint Joseph's softball team was downed by the Villanova Wildcats, 8-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
Both teams got good pitching through the first two innings as there were a combined three hits in those frames. Villanova broke out the bats in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs. After a scoreless fourth inning by both teams, the Wildcats added three more runs in the fifth.
The Hawks return home for an Atlantic 10 series against George Mason this weekend. First pitch of Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled for noon
