PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team rallied back from a 3-1 deficit to stun Temple, 4-3, on Thursday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Hawks claimed the doubles point as
Davi Carlos and
Jakob Gaudreau Barnes won at love in the third flight before
Damir Abdusamadov and
Santiago Valle cruised in the first flight.
• Temple took control of the match as singles play got underway, taking wins in the first, second, and fourth flights to take a commanding 3-1 lead.
• Saint Joseph's battled back from that point, as
Sehaj Singh Pawar finished off his fifth-flight opponent in straight sets to make it a 3-2 score.
• Abdusamadov then rallied from a set down in the third flight to secure the three-set victory and tie the score at three-all.
• Gaudreau Barnes was the last man standing for the Hawks; he finished off a three-set victory of his own to give the Hawks a hard-fought win.
