DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team dropped a 13-11 decision to Davidson on Saturday afternoon.
Kate Fuhrman opened the scoring for Saint Joseph's (6-8, 5-2 A-10) with a goal in the first four minutes, but Davidson answered with two goals in a two-minute span to take the lead.
Megan Sanelli and
Olivia McCloskey responded with back-to-back goals to put the Hawks back in front before the Wildcats evened the score at 3-3 at the end of the first quarter.
The teams traded the first four goals of the second quarter to remain tied at 5-5 midway through the period. Davidson seized momentum late, scoring the final three goals of the half to take an 8-5 lead into the break.
The Wildcats extended the lead to four early in the third quarter, but Saint Joseph's trimmed the deficit to two entering the fourth. Despite the push, the Hawks were unable to get closer, as Davidson maintained at least a two-goal advantage the rest of the way.

- Alexa Capozzoli (one goal, four assists) and Kate Fuhrman (four goals, one assist) led the Hawks with five points each.
- Olivia McCloskey totaled four points (three goals, one assist) for her third consecutive multi-goal game.
- Tess Talbot made a career-high 10 saves in goal.
- Davidson held a 32-29 edge in shots and a 17-16 advantage in shots on goal.
- Saint Joseph's won the draw control battle, 13-12.
