MEDIA, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team shut out Saint Louis, 5-0, at Springton Tennis Club on Thursday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Hawks ran out to a quick start with a 6-1 win in the top doubles flight for
Damir Abdusamadov and
Othman Bezzaz. The Billikens won the second flight, but
Hector Fullone and
Sehaj Singh Pawar outlasted their opponents in the third flight, 7-6 (3), to secure the point.
• Bezzaz won his second flight match, dropping just three games along the way, to double the Hawk lead. Abdusamadov then won in the top flight in three sets before
Jakob Gaudreau Barnes battled back from a set down to win a three-setter and Pawar came from one down to force a supertiebreaker, which he won to set the final margin.

"It was a great team win today against another Atlantic 10 opponent," head coach
Jeff Puhan said. "Today, the guys really stepped up right from the start. We are building momentum and look to carry this into Saturday's match."
