MERION STATION, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's baseball team finished off a three-game sweep of Saint Louis with a 7-3 win over the Billikens at Smithson Field on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Joseph's (19-11 overall, 11-1 Atlantic 10) took the lead in the bottom of the first inning after an
Alex Kelsey single led to a two-run home run from
Blake Primrose.
Â
• The lead was extended to 3-0 in the second after
Tim Dickinson singled and stole second in front of a two-out single by
Carson Applegate.
Â
• Saint Louis (13-18 overall, 4-8 Atlantic 10) got on the board in the top of the third on a two-run double by Drew Kleinheider.

Alex Venezia restored the three-run lead in the bottom of the fourth with a two-run shot off the scoreboard in left center, but the Billikens got one back in the top of the fifth to make it a 5-3 game.

• The Hawks got a pair of insurance runs with two outs in the eighth. Applegate started things off with a single before scoring on a double to left center by
Joey Gale. Kelsey then followed with a single to score Gale and set the final margin.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE

Cole Fehrman allowed three runs on four hits while striking out seven in five innings to earn the win.Â
Luke Parise finished the game with four shutout innings, racking up four strikeouts of his own, to earn the save. Noah Andrunas allowed three runs on four hits in two innings to take the loss for Saint Louis.

• Kelsey and Applegate had three hits apiece for the Hawks while Gale and Primrose collected two each; Kelsey also drew a walk to reach base four times in the contest. Dickinson scored twice in the game while Primrose and Venezia drove in two runs each.

• Primrose's home run in the first inning gave him one in each game of the series.

• For the series, the Hawk pitching staff recorded 39 strikeouts and issued just five walks.
