MERION STATION, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team beat its fourth Atlantic 10 foe in as many tries this season as the Hawks took down George Mason, 4-2, on Senior Day at the SJU Tennis Complex on Saturday.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The visitors won the doubles point, taking wins in the second and third flights.  Damir Abdusamadov and Santiago Valle won 6-4 in the first flight.
 
• The Patriots doubled their lead with a win in the third singles flight, but the Hawks took control from there.  Valle made quick work of his first-flight opponent before Ernesto Ruy rallied from a set down to win in the second flight and tie the score.
 
• Othman Bezzaz put the Hawks ahead with a straight-sets win in the fourth flight before Jakob Gaudreau Barnes came back from a set down to win in the sixth and send the Hawks home with the victory.
 
HAWK TALK
"We knew today's match was going to be tough," head coach Jeff Puhan said.  "Credit our guys for the way they responded after the doubles point.  We will begin to prepare for our final A-10 matches in two weeks."

The Hawks take on Duquesne and VCU in Richmond, Virginia, on April 17 and 18.
