Softball Rallies Late Against Loyola

MERION STATION, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's softball team rallied in the late innings, but the Loyola Chicago Ramblers held on for a 7-4 win on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Ramblers got on the board in the top of the first on a double steal. They scored once more in the fourth and five times in the fifth to build a 7-0 lead.
  • SJU got on the board in the sixth. With two down, Kasi Loser singled, followed by Grace Brown working a 10-pitch walk. Currie came up and ripped a double down the leftfield line to get the Hawks on the board.
  • Leading off the seventh, Peterson took a 2-0 fastball deep beyond the leftfield fence for her second homer of the season.
  • Elyssa Hasapis followed with a double. Meghan Sinkus walked before the runners moved up a base each on a wild pitch. A groundout by York brought home Hasapis.
 
UP NEXT
The Hawks remain local, heading to West Philadelphia to take on Drexel on Wednesday, April 8. First pitch from the Vidas Sports Complex is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
