DALLAS – Saint Joseph's sophomore catcher
Blake Primrose has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's All-America Second Team, the organization announced on Wednesday afternoon.

The NCBWA District 1 Co-Player of the Year, Primrose turned in a record-breaking 2026 campaign, earning Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors as well as a nod for the American Baseball Coaches Association All East Region First Team and the All-ECAC Team. He was also named one of 16 semifinalists for the Buster Posey Award, given to the nation's top collegiate catcher.

The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, product set new single-season program records with 24 home runs, 78 runs scored, and 72 runs batted in, while his 48 walks are the second-most hy a Hawk in a single season and his 81 hits are tied for third. He was a three-time A-10 Player of the Week honoree, was tabbed for the
Baseball America Team of the Week on April 14, and was named the NCBWA's National Hitter of the Month for April.

Primrose is the first Hawk to earn postseason All-America honors from the NCBWA since Kevin Kirkby in 2001; Kirkby (2001) and Ryan Cesarini (2024) have earned Preseason All-America Third Team nods as well. It is the highest non-freshman specific postseason honor of any kind for a Hawk since John DelMonte was named to the All-America First Team by
The Sporting News in 1979.
