Lauren Lebo made seven saves as the Saint Joseph's women's soccer team continued its hot start to the season with a 1-0 win against the Bucknell Bison on Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- St. Joe's had the first sustained possession of the match and turned it into the first goal of the contest in the 12th minute as Fisher redirected a cross from Olivia Benzing into the left side of the net.
- Both teams had scoring chances as the half went on, but neither squad could convert as the game remained 1-0 at the break.
- Bucknell delivered relentless pressure to start the second half, but the Hawks' defense and goalkeeper were up to the task, highlighted by several sprawling saves by Lebo.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Fisher becomes the first player in program history to score a goal in each of the first four games of the season. She leads the Atlantic 10 in both goals (4) and points (10).
- Six of Lebo's saves came in the second half.
- It was Benzing's first assist of the season.
