Saint Joseph's Vice President and Director of Athletics Ashwin Puri announced that Dr. Eric Laudano has been elevated to a newly created position of Assistant Vice President/Chief Athletics Operating Officer.

"Eric has made an impact on Saint Joseph's Athletics since the moment he arrived on Hawk Hill in 2019," Puri said. "He is a highly-respected member of not only the Saint Joseph's community, but across the landscape of collegiate athletics. This new role is a direct reflection of his exceptional leadership and proven ability to manage complex operations."

In his new role, Laudano will oversee the daily operations of Saint Joseph's Athletics department, including health and performance, game operations, facilities management, external operations, and campus recreation. Laudano arrived on Hawk Hill in 2019 as senior associate athletics director, while serving as interim director of athletics in the spring of 2026. Eric remains a member of the athletic department executive team, and continues his roles as the NCAA healthcare administrator and sport administrator for men's lacrosse. 

After joining Hawk Hill in 2019, Laudano brought extensive athletic leadership experience from the University of Delaware, where he directed sports performance, equipment operations, and campus recreation. Prior to that, he spent eight years at Penn managing sports performance teams, serving as chief health and wellness officer, and acting as sport administrator for eight varsity programs. His previous experience includes positions at Indiana State, Quinnipiac, Yale, the U.S. Olympic Committee, the Arena Football League, and the N.F.L. Laudano has also served as both a member and chair of various institutional committees, conference committees, and NCAA committees and working groups throughout his career.

Earning his degree in sports medicine from Keene State College in 1999, Laudano earned a master's degree in health science and medical laboratory sciences from Quinnipiac in 2005, and received his doctorate at Temple in May 2018. Laudano also holds certifications as an athletic trainer and strength and conditioning coach.
