United States Men’s National Team member Christian DeAngelis has joined the Saint Joseph's field hockey coaching staff in time for the 2022 season.

“I am thrilled to welcome Christian to our staff this fall,” head coach Hannah Prince said upon his appointment.  “His experience playing as a Division I practice player at Old Dominion will make for a smooth transition as our new group comes together.  He understands the college game and has a great skill set.  In addition, he brings a wealth of international playing experience that will be a huge asset for assisting our Hawks.”

A veteran of 46 appearances with the national team, DeAngelis has competed for the United States at multiple levels during his career.  He was part of the gold medal-winning side at the 2018 Hockey Series Open in Salamanca, Mexico, and earned silver medals at 2019 3 Nations Invitational and the 2021 Indoor Pan American Cup tournaments.  He earned his first full senior cap in January of 2018 when the United States took on Spain in the 5 Nations Tournament.

DeAngelis first joined the Junior National Team in 2013 and would go on to represent the Stars and Stripes in the 2016 Junior Pan American Championship in Toronto, Canada, as well as the 2017 Sultan of Johor Cup in Malaysia.

A native of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, DeAngelis was a member of the WC Eagles and East Coast High Performance club programs before graduating from Old Dominion in 2021.
