Women's Soccer Downs Temple in Atlantic 10 Opener

PHILADELPHIA - Saint Joseph's University opened the Atlantic 10 portion of its schedule with a 1-0 win at Temple Friday afternoon.

Hawks sophomore forward Ali Wean recorded the lone goal, scoring in the 29th minute to put SJU up 1-0.

SJU freshman goalkeeper Jen Kuhn made six saves on the afternoon to preserve the shutout.

For the game, the Hawks out shot the Owls 9-7 and edged Temple in corner kicks, 2-1.

With the win, Saint Joseph's falls to improves to 3-5-0 on the season and 1-0-0 in conference, while Temple falls to 2-5-0 and 0-1-0 in A-10 play.

Saint Joseph's returns to action Monday at the Naval Academey. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
