BRONX, NY - The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team (2-3) mustered just a pair of singles victories from sophomore Erika Guers and freshman Gina Digiacomo while dropping a 5-2 decision to Atlantic 10 rival Fordham (3-0) on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts.

Guers picked up a 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) victory at number four singles and DiGiacomo delivered a 6-2, 6-4 win at number six.

The Rams' Ellenoira Featherston did not lose a game to Hawk junior Nicole Morrison at first singles, winning 6-0 and 6-0, while Christina Papa defeated Michelle Savage at second singles in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-1.

The Rams opened the match by winning the doubles point, taking two of the three doubles matches. Featherston and Papa won at first doubles over Morrison and Jess Swanderski, 8-1, while Doina Sandor and Danielle Spigner won at second doubles over Savage and Guers, 8-6. The Hawks took the third doubles with DiGiacomo and Marisa Donelson defeating Lisa Vulin and Liz Murray, 8-5.

Other singles winners for the Rams were Sandor in the third spot over Swanderski (6-3, 6-2) and Vulin at fifth singles over sophomore Alisa Van Meter (6-3, 6-0).
