SPENCER FIGHTS HIS WAY BACK IN CONSOLATION BRACKET

PRINCETON, NJ (09/20/03) -- Sophomore Chris Spencer, who lost in the Flight B first round, fought his way back through the consolation bracket on Saturday to reach semifinals. He defeated St. Bonaventure's Sajeel Qureshi, 6-3, 6-3 and Princeton's Ted Mabrey, 6-1, 6-1 to reach the bracket's final four. Sophomores Jimmy Holland and Antonio Aniello reached the third round of the Flight B bracket before bailing out. Holland fell to St. John's David Nylen, 6-2, 6-2 and Aniello dropped a 6-3, 6-1 decision to Penn's Adam Bekker. The doubles team of senior Bobby Cappelli and sophomore Ravi Pujara advanced in the Flight B doubles bracket with a win over the St. John's duo of Skinner/Chiporuka. The SJU pair then lost to Princeton's Goswami/Morales, 8-2. Complete results can be found here.
