Jameer Nelson and
Phil Martelli continue to add awards to their impressive resumes, with two more announced today at the Final Four.
Nelson and Martelli were named the Chevrolet Player of the Year and Chevrolet Coach of the Year with their acceptance televised nationally during halftime of the first NCAA semifinal.
In between semifinal games, it was announced that Nelson is the recipient of the Bayer Senior Class Award, given to the nation's top senior student-athlete. Nelson will receive his award at a gala in Kansas City on May 7. Juan Dixon of Maryland and David West of Xavier are the only other previous winners.
Nelson and Martelli have already swept the top player and coach honors from Associated Press, the Naismith Award, the USBWA.
