JAMEER NELSON EARNS THIRD A-10 PLAYER OF WEEK HONOR

PHILADELPHIA (01/05/03) - Saint Joseph's junior Jameer Nelson continues to rack up the accolades this season. The 6-0 point guard picked up his third A-10 Player of the Week Award for the week ending January 2, sharing the honor with UMass' guard Anthony Anderson. Nelson scored a career high 34 points in the Hawks' only game of the week, a 79-78 overtime win at Gonzaga on New Year's Eve. The SJU co-captain tallied the final six points for the Hawks in the overtime period, including the game-winning basket with eight seconds to play. He also scored his 1,000th career point in the win, while leading th3 team in rebounding (six) and steals (three).
