REGAN NAMED A-10 ROOKIE OF THE WEEK...AGAIN

PHILADELPHIA (09/09/02) - Saint Joseph's freshman runners Ann Regan (Springfield, Pa. / Springfield) and Andre Laboy (Danbury, Conn. / Danbury) were named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors announced September 10. For Regan, it is her second consecutive honor, while Laboy receives the award for the first time. Regan finished second for the Hawks and sixth overall with a time of 18:52 at the Duquesne Duals in Pittsburgh. Her time was just 30 seconds off the pace of Katie Aemi of Carnegie Mellon, who paced the 70-runner field with an 18:22. Saint Joseph's swept the seven-team field, improving their record to 6-0 on the season. Laboy paced the Crimson and Gray as they also swept the Duals with a time of 21:50, good for third overall. He finished behind Ricki Moore (21:24) and Matt Abel (21:45), both of Wheeling Jesuit University. It was the second consecutive honor for the Hawks, as redshirt freshman Rich Anderson received the Rookie of the Week award last week.
