PHILADELPHIA (03/12/03) - Saint Joseph's stellar backcourt of junior Jameer Nelson and sophomore Delonte West have been named to the 11-man United States Basketball Writers Association All-District I team. Hawk coach Phil Martelli also picked up his second USBWA District Coach of the Year honor, his first coming in 1997. Joining Nelson and West on the team are Ugonna Onykewe of Penn), Troy Bell and Craig Smith of Boston College, Brandin Knight and Julius Page of Pittsburgh, Emeka Okafor and Ben Gordon of Connecticut, Drew Schiffino of West Virginia, and Ryan Gomes of Providence. Nelson had earlier been selected first team all-District III by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) while West was named to the second team.
