PHILADELPHIA (03/10/03) - Saint Joseph's junior guard Jameer Nelson picked up his third Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week award this week. For the week, Nelson averaged 30.5 points, eight rebounds and 3.5 steals as SJU split a pair of games. Against #11 Xavier on Wednesday at the Fieldhouse, the All-America candidate tallied 33 points to lead all scorers in the 88-80 heartbreaking overtime defeat. At UMass on Saturday, he scored 28 points and grabbed a career high 12 rebounds to lead SJU to a 52-49 win.
