Hawks Post 3-1 Victory in Regular-Season Finale at St. Bonaventure

OLEAN, NY - The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team earned a 3-1 victory at St. Bonaventure in Sunday's regular-season finale.

Hawks junior Megan Schutt opened the game scoring, gathering a corner kick from teammate Alisha Paine and beating St. Bonaventure's Lisa Eberhart at 5:15.

St. Bonaventure struck back, tying the game at one apiece 10 minutes before the half. Kerry O'Malley tallied her fifth goal of the season, scoring from 15 yards out off a crossing pass by teammate Kristin Sotak.

Just 1:22 into the second stanza, Saint Joseph's junior forward Ali Wean put the Hawks up 2-1 on an unassisted goal.

Saint Joseph's would add an insurance goal at 69:39 as Paine tallied her ninth goal of the season to extended SJU's lead to 3-1 and preserve the victory.

For the game, the Bonnies out shot the Hawk 12-8, but Saint Joseph's held a 5-3 edge in corners.

With the victory, the Hawks improve to 8-8-3, and 4-3-2 in Atlantic 10 play. St. Bonaventure finishes the season at 2-15-0 overall and 1-8-0 in conference play.
