PHILADELPHIA - Fans can get their first look at the 2006-07 Saint Joseph's men's and women's basketball teams at "Midnight Madness" tonight, October 20 in Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse. Doors eopen at 9:20 p.m. with the event featuring numerous contests, giveaways and a Crimson vs. Gray men's basketballintra-squad scrimmage.

Admission is free to the event and all SJU fans are invited to attend.

The student-geared event will begin with a pre-game barbeque at 8:30 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Sports Complex.

Contests will begin at 9:30 and will include a "Flap-a-thon", a chance to win a car, and celebrity "Knock-out" shooting contest.

The 2006-07 men's and women's basketball teams will be introduced for the first time this season and coach Phil Martelli will address the crowd prior to the intra-squad scrimmage.

The Saint Joseph's women's basketball team will hold "Mid-Day Madness" on Sunday, October 29 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Fieldhouse.

The first official day of practice for Saint Joseph's is Saturday, October 14. The "Midnight Madness" event is held a week later as to not conflict with the University's Fall break.
